Vancouver B.C.

Last weekend we decided to get away for a couple days and take a trip up to Vancouver B.C.!  Since Logan already has a passport it was an easy way to get out of town and out of the country for a bit :).  This was Logan's first time staying in a hotel room so even though it was late when we got there he had a surge of energy and ran around the room climbing on everything!
It took awhile to come down from the "high" of a new place, but we eventually got him to sleep.

On Saturday we went to breakfast a place called DeDutch- which had great thin pancakes topped with all sorts of stuff.  Logan was less than thrilled (these teeth man...), but did enjoy a lemon wedge.

Then we walked to Granville Island (we got a lot of walking in on this vacation!) and visited the Public Market.

Logan was a bit sleepy so he kind of napped off and on in the backpack.
He got a new hat :)

We had lunch at a brewery.  Logan mostly ate raisins and cheerios that day...once again the teeth need to just come in!
we got to take a little walk on ferry to and from the island
Logan got to play on the beach a bit before heading back to the hotel room.

On Sunday we went to the same place for breakfast...sometimes it's just easiest when you know a place is kid friendly :)
This time Logan had French Toast with Blueberries and that was a hit!
Then we went to Stanley Park and visited the Vancouver Aquarium.

Logan got to check out the Jelly Fish and some tropical colored fish.  A few little monkeys and colorful birds in the rain forest.  (I apparently didn't take very many pictures for some reason... :( ).
We also saw some otters (my favorites), a beluga whale, seals, and a couple dolphins (my other favorites)!

Stanley Park is HUGE and we will definitely have to go back to investigate it more!  Thankfully Vancouver is only a little over 2 hours away so we will have to go back soon.  Logan was a little over traveling and a bit overly exhausted after the aquarium so we didn't get to do much else at the park this trip.

18 Months

I know I'm a little behind on my posts these days :(  Logan is now officially 18 months old!

At 18 Months:
~he is working on more words-  says or is able to communicate words for cracker, more & water (food seems to be a good motivator for learning new words) along with words he's been using (mama, dada, nana, da-da for blanket)
~he signs more, please and blanket
~loves his trucks!
~will play outside for as long as we let him, digging in the dirt, moving rocks from one place to another
~he maneuvers around the patio like a champ, even the little step!
~plays the piano at grandma and grandpa's house
~gets to drive the car sometimes... while it's parked :)
~walks up the stairs quickly and is working on walking down, he likes it best if you hold his hand and he walks down like a big kid
~he jumps... everywhere.  His favorite way to get from one place to another
~yells DA! when he wants Dakota to come
~likes to drag a chair into the kitchen to help while I get dinner ready
~he's still a little timid around other kids but is getting better with his library time
~he gives kisses and hugs
~LOVES his blankie!
~he's kind of a mama's boy right now, but he really likes to follow Kendall around in the yard and do what he's doing
~he really likes wearing hats- baseball hats, winter hats, monkey hats, sometimes a combo of hats :)
~wears mostly 24 month tops and 18 month pants and size 4 diapers (5 at night)
~has almost all his teeth...working on the last few...can't wait till they are in

It has been a busy week or so in the Klein house, I started a new job, Kendall has been sick, Logan is getting more teeth and is potentially sick... so I haven't really had a chance to do any posts! :(  We have been taking lots of pictures, however, so I thought I would do a quick recap.
